D’Vine Lounge Bar in DTLA presents Karma Tequila - Salsa Night on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Enjoy a free lineup of Karma Tequila tastings paired with complimentary small bites, followed by a free salsa class led by Jose Valencia from 8-9 p.m. DJ Charlie Antillon spins tunes throughout the night. THE WENDY PROJECT (Graphic novel)
Writer Melissa Jane Osborne is at Book Soup on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. to talk about her new graphic novel, The Wendy Project, based on a web comic and comic book series. She’ll be in conversation with actress Christine Woods, about the book, which focuses on 16-year-old Wendy Davies. When she crashes her car and kills her youngest brother, the once-rational girl tells everyone that her brother is alive and in the custody of a mysterious flying boy. “Wendy negotiates fantasy and reality as students and adults around her resemble characters from Neverland. Given a sketchbook by her therapist, Wendy starts to draw.” What’s true and what’s not is part of Wendy’s journey of discovery.

HERBIE HANCOCK + KAMASI WASHINGTON (Music) 
Two jazz greats—Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington—play the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The Oscar®- and multiple Grammy®-winning pianist Hancock performs his latest works (with his next release set for release in 2018). L.A. native Kamasi Washington plays new music from his upcoming EP, Harmony of Difference, which will be released on Sept. 29. Washington performs with his band, a 24-piece orchestra and 15-voice choir. Tickets start at $15.
